I'm a Twitterholic. I love twitter, chatting with people and retweeting items. In fact, I'm on a few teams and that's what we do, RT other items.
What is Twitter? Twitter is 1 social media site where your comments are 140 characters or less.
You can sign up for a Twitter account at http://twitter.com and learn more by reading.
Hootsuite is a tool you can used to see the streams (teams) that you are on all in 1 view. Hootsuite also lets you schedule tweets throughout the day. There are free and paid accounts. I use the free account and I get monthly click reports.
This is what Hootsuite looks like and how to schedule tweets, you click on the calendar icon and pick your date and time.
What I like about Hootsuite:
- Scheduling tweets for later in the day
- Seeing Etsy and Artfire teams in streams
Make your items easy to RT by:
1. shortening your links (Hootsuite lets you do this too)
2. omit dashes, extra symbols and quotation marks - they aren't necessary and are hard to RT
Twitter Etiquette:
1. Thank everyone who mentions you or RTs your item
2. Chat about things other than your products. Ask questions. You get to know a few people and it's fun. You might become addicted too.
3. Follow people on Twitter
4. I learned the hard way not to discuss politics. My followers didn't like it. Listen to your followers.
Increase Twitter Followers and Views:
1. Join a Twitter team
2. Join the Twitter Tree Team where you tweet other people's others every day. I'm the hostess of Tuesday Twitter Tree. 3. Follow Friday - join in on Follow Friday for tweeters you know. Just post something like @galla15 #ff @lindab142 @jesseciane (Remember to thank peopole)
So keep your tweets short and sweet.
